During the space sector retreat organized by the UAE Space Agency, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Agency’s Board of Directors, stressed strengthening the role of the private sector, supporting international competition, enabling the transfer and localization of technology, in addition to enhancing research and development and protecting intellectual property, in a way that contributes to the development of an advanced and sustainable national space system.

As part of its efforts to enhance governance and build a pioneering regulatory environment for the space sector, the UAE Space Agency held a meeting with the Executive Office for Control and Non-Proliferation, during which the proposed areas of cooperation were reviewed and the project of the joint team concerned with establishing controls governing import and export operations related to space activities was launched.

Engineer Sultan Al Zaidi, Director of Sponsorship of Space Projects at the Emirates Space Agency, participated in the first technical dialogue for research and development organized by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, through a session entitled “Approaches based on technical readiness levels (TRLs) to expand the scope of new technologies.”
