New resource manual sets framework for managing World Heritage

UNESCO and the Advisory Bodies to the World Heritage Committee – ICCROM, ICOMOS, and IUCN – have announced the release of a new manual, Managing World Heritage, a foundational reference document to guide conservation in World Heritage and other heritage places, outlining the key elements and processes of the management system.

Together for Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean

We are glad to be part of the Med Blue Tourism Flagship Initiative formally approved by the United Nations Environment Programme / Mediterranean Action Plan Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD) 21st meeting and now endorsed by the 24th Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention and its Protocols (COP24), last December in Cairo, Egypt, reinforcing regional policy alignment and political anchoring for sustainable coastal and marine tourism.

IUCN Eastern Europe and Central Asia designated as official CBD Technical and Scientific Cooperation Support Centre for Central Asia

IUCN has formally signed a Host Agreement with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on 17 February in Rome, during the sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI-6), designating the IUCN Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECARO) as the official Subregional Technical and Scientific Cooperation (TSC) Support Centre for Central Asia.
