During the space retreat, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Space Agency, discussed the political landscape of space, regional pluralism and its impact on global supply chains, stressing the role of this in enhancing security, innovation, and empowering national industry.

During the space sector retreat organized by the UAE Space Agency, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Agency’s Board of Directors, stressed strengthening the role of the private sector, supporting international competition, enabling the transfer and localization of technology, in addition to enhancing research and development and protecting intellectual property, in a way that contributes to the development of an advanced and sustainable national space system.

As part of its efforts to enhance governance and build a pioneering regulatory environment for the space sector, the UAE Space Agency held a meeting with the Executive Office for Control and Non-Proliferation, during which the proposed areas of cooperation were reviewed and the project of the joint team concerned with establishing controls governing import and export operations related to space activities was launched.

Engineer Sultan Al Zaidi, Director of Sponsorship of Space Projects at the Emirates Space Agency, participated in the first technical dialogue for research and development organized by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, through a session entitled “Approaches based on technical readiness levels (TRLs) to expand the scope of new technologies.”

As part of the UAE’s participation in the meetings of the Fourth Committee of the United Nations, His Excellency Ibrahim Al Qassim, Deputy Director General of the UAE Space Agency, confirmed the UAE’s commitment to the peaceful and responsible use of outer space, and its support for international efforts aimed at enhancing cooperation in this field.

During the space retreat, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Space Agency, stressed the importance of global trends in the space sector and their role in promoting social and economic development, supporting innovation and developing national industries.
